A book that primarily focuses on individual privileges, life experience and opinions when it comes to handling money. It highlights some really good points for handling money like saving and the need for savings in the first place.

I started this out with very little expectations. However, to my surprise the book isn't as bad as people portray it to be.

Yes, there are conflicting statements within the book and the writing style is repetitive at times. But overall, it does present some good concepts about values.

While many of the ideas were not new to me, this could easily be just my case perhaps.

The book that inspired Dystopia.

I was aware that George Orwell was inspired by this before even starting. Soon the similarities became more and more common. While you can tell how this book can be an inspiration for titles like 1984 and Brave New World. This still has a lot of original ideas and story and the rest are not a complete rip off.

I am not an avid self-help reader and this was a hard to swallow type book.

While I agreed to majority of the ideas presented what I disliked was the way everything was delivered. It makes sense to write in-depth and sharing all the nitty gritty details/stories to affirm the point. However, this quickly makes the reading experience dissatisfying.

There were times when I had to back track multiple times because resuming where you left can be a challenge. The book goes way too deep in some concepts that results in boredom and unwillingness to continue.

The Book makes some great points and it does feel well intended.

Second book from this author and first book from the series and i gotta say...
this is how a Mystery/Crime should be written!

So many different things happening at the same time but the pace is appropriate that you are still able to keep track of everything.
Great story, well written and very Gripping!

Only an author like "Stephen King" can write a book with such a unique writing style like this one and be consistent with it throughout the book.

The Book starts in an interrogation room and the person in question is speaking in front of a mic, only you're hearing the recording. And that's exactly what's happening in this book. No one else is speaking, what you're reading is the tape recording of Dolores Claiborne.

It's a short and interesting read. Contains very strong philosophical ideas that you may or may not agree too. But its the what the author has been through really makes you consider them.

The Experiences of a Concentration Camp section was really captivating. It was both interesting and resourceful. I didn't find Logotherapy in a nutshell section as intriguing as the previous one.

This is neither a short nor an easy read, yet it was so worth it. The writing style takes some time to get used to, but you're left in awe when it grips you to an extend that you start admiring the world he creates.

A book from the 1800's that talk about human psychology in such accuracy to this day is what i liked most about it.

Looking forward for more Dostoyevsky.

What an amazing experience this book has been. I loved the weird and comedic(intentional or unintentional) writing. It's really surprising a book that painted a world this beautifully of a very distant future was written over 80 years ago.

While the story was phenominal, the delivery wasn't. There were days when I'd read one chapter and don't feel the urge to read any further. Resulting in completing a book of this length in a very long time.

People argue with me when i tell them The Kite Runner is not the best book in my opinion.

Unlike many authors, this was not an easy read. The book spends a lot of time developing a character, it gives examples that takes a while to get. Good thing i had a few days off when i picked this up and was able to read it without any external distraction.

The story on this one doesn't make sense. There's a recursive theme of finding 'meaning' in EVERY. SINGLE. THING!
The book just presents philosophical ideas that is only good to take chunks of it and posting it on social media. This results in contradiction within the book.

A very short, straightforward and interesting read. Most definitely what Paulo Coelho is known for among some of his other works.

This book speaks greatly of Omens and to make your decisions based on those omens. It expresses tremoundous amount of philosophical ideas which are true till date.

My introduction to Elif Shafaq. The Bastard of Instanbul is one of those books that has a great elevator pitch but fails to deliver a strong climax. The book gravitates towards topics like the "Armenian Genocide" but disappoints greatly when it comes to drawing a conclusion as the book quickly deviates from the main story.

The characters lack dept and are very stereotypical that you just dont care about any of them.
The plot twist was predictable, the book starts developing a character for no reason after 2/3 of the book is finished, and there's a random recipe in the middle of the book.

Though i don't have any complaints regarding the writing style, i believe The Bastard of Istanbul could've been a great book. I really enjoyed the first half of the book.

The book was not enjoyable for the most part, it features a character called Lord Henry who can't stop shoving his ideas onto you. You'd find conversations that contains one line from Dorian Gray and pages from Lord Henry bashing about his opinions which weren’t even good. It gave me a hard time finishing the book.⠀

This book is a collection of short yet well written mystery/crime stories.
Some excellent some okay. Considering how old the book is, you can find many of the modern day movie plots that were clearly inspired by some of its stories.

I was really impressed by how simple and straight forward the writing was, i would comfortably read it during my commute without the hassle of tackling hard to digest words. Its unpredictability captivates you to read more.

The characters have intellectual conversations sharing philosophical ideas, discussion of books like 'Arabian Nights' and a book on the trial of 'Adolf Eichmann'. There is also a great expression of classical music and the life of 'Beethoven'.

The book is not in any means perfect, it has its ups and downs and some details that you find disturbing and disgusting. However, it's Dialogues and Discussions make up for it.
